BEHOLD! A GoatDiesel invention brought to real life via the Westchester Country Day School boys basketball team. Let me summarize how I invented this play in 1997 and have it utilized in a designed play 12 years later. (Yes! That play was actually drawn up before hand). As I was saying the year was ‘97, it was summer, it was hot and of course I was playing ball with some of my boys. The game was tight and we needed something to shift the momentum in our favour going into crunch time. After a key time out with about 1 minute left on the clock, I devised what was only the dream of over zealous boys on courts everywhere, THE DOUBLE ALLEY OOP.
After the time out we started with a pick and roll just under the 3 point line, I rolled off the screen and headed to the basket, the ball was lobbed in the air, I caught it and right before I hit the rim I lobbed the ball once more for my friend Cam to slam it home, leaving everyone in the room gasping for air. And that’s how I won the greatest game of NBA Hangtime ever played on N64!!!
A special thanks to my boy J.E Skeets over at Ball Don’t Lie for the heads up on this sick video. (Disclaimer: I actually don’t know J.E at all but he loves my Raptors and writes my favourite blog on the internets, so for those reasons I consider us boys.)
