Yup, you read correctly… 6 TIMES in one play. Someone needs to nail down Corey Maggette’s shoes, that man has faster feet then Muhammad Ali! If you think this is a one time thing, check out the video after the jump (pretty old and sketchy) but clearly shows Dan Majerle takes about 8 steps in a PLAYOFF game back in the day!
This is a good one for the GoatDiesel comments:
Do you think the NBA needs to crack down a bit on it’s loose footed players?
Thanks to @ajv for the tip on this ridiculous video.
Peace!

Great article!
that Majerle video is hilarious! how did that not get called? dude went for a short walk during the game.
NBA absolutely needs to crack down on that garbage. it should be a pretty simple rule to enforce, you either travel or you don’t, no gray area. the refs are too busy looking at the names on the back of the jersey to determine whether there was a foul to worry about a few footwork infractions. traveling and carrying the ball both offer a decided advantage to the offensive player, which leads to many of the highlight reel plays and dunks which the fans eat up. they always edit out the traveling violations in the highlight of the night.
tightening the game up would be awesome from a purist standpoint, but it won’t fly while the entertainment factor reigns supreme for the majority of the owners.
I totally agree with you Reefer! My biggest gripe with the NBA is that the officiating is SO suspect. I am/have been actually trying to piece some serious research together for a nice expose (say it french like) on the reffing in the NBA. Its so hard to talk to anyone who doesn’t really like the sport of basketball because the first thing they say is “depending on who you are it depends on who gets the call” and I really have no answer for that because it’s true.
Then there is the whole Tim Donaghy thing which I am leaving alone for now.
Thanks for the comments they are always a good read!
Peace!
